Master AutoTech Downtown SLC is our Main Street shop: a family-owned, full-service auto repair shop at 690 Main St, on Main Street just north of 700 South, a block from the 600 South TRAX station. Our ASE-certified mechanics handle everything from oil changes and brakes to engine and transmission repair on sedans, trucks, SUVs, hybrids and EVs. Every technician at Master AutoTech Downtown SLC is required to earn ASE certification within 90 days of joining the team.

The check engine light scan is free, and you can request an estimate online. What drives the price is the part that failed, the labor to reach it, your vehicle and the parts grade you choose. Routine maintenance is priced as packages, starting with ProCare oil service at $79.95.

We’re a family-owned shop that treats every vehicle like it belongs to a neighbor. Master AutoTech started as Master Muffler in 1963 and grew into Utah’s largest auto repair franchise, and this downtown location served Salt Lake City as Master Muffler & Brake before the rebrand. You’ll find us on Main Street just north of 700 South, a block from the 600 South TRAX station, with West Temple one block west and State Street one block east. 600 South, one block north, connects downtown with I-15. Look for the big Master AutoTech sign and pull into our lot on Main Street.
