Master AutoTech Logan performs complete car and truck tune-ups for drivers across Logan, North Logan and Providence. A tune-up restores power and fuel economy and catches worn parts before they leave you stranded, and our work is backed by a 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty*.

Short trips, stop-and-go traffic on Main Street and cold winter starts are hard on plugs, filters and belts. Our shop is on North Main Street at 600 North, so a tune-up fits easily around work or errands.

What Happens During Your Tune-Up

Every gas-powered vehicle gets our tune-up checklist. Here’s what we inspect and when each item is typically due:

  1. Spark plugs. Inspected and replaced when worn. Typically every 30,000–100,000 miles depending on plug type.
  2. Ignition coils & plug wires. Tested for misfires; wires checked on older vehicles. As needed.
  3. Engine air filter. Replaced when dirty. Every 15,000–30,000 miles, sooner on dusty roads.
  4. Fuel filter. Replaced where serviceable. Every 30,000–60,000 miles.
  5. Belts & hoses. Checked for cracks and wear; Utah’s dry climate ages rubber fast. Every visit.
  6. Battery & charging. Tested so you don’t get stranded on a cold morning. Every visit.
  7. Oxygen sensors. Checked so the engine burns the right amount of fuel. As needed.
  8. PCV valve. Inspected and replaced to control crankcase pressure. Every 30,000–50,000 miles.
  9. Distributor cap & rotor. On older vehicles that still have one. As needed.

You leave with a report of everything we checked and replaced, so you have a record of what was done and when.

Why get a tune-up if your car runs fine? Leaks, worn parts and failing sensors often don’t show symptoms until they cause a bigger, more expensive repair. A tune-up catches them while they’re still small.

How Much Does a Tune-Up Cost in Logan?

Tune-up cost depends on your engine and what’s due. A four-cylinder with easy-to-reach plugs costs less than a V6 or V8 where the intake has to come off, and iridium plugs cost more than copper. We check your mileage and service history, recommend only what’s due, and quote it before we start.

We keep our prices competitive and upfront: you get an estimate and approve it before any work starts.

Signs You Need a Tune-Up

  • Dropping fuel economy
  • Rough idle or engine misfires
  • Hesitation or sluggish acceleration
  • Hard starting, especially on cold mornings
  • The check engine light is on
  • Engine knocking or pinging

How Often Should You Get a Tune-Up?

Most modern vehicles need a tune-up every 30,000 to 50,000 miles; older vehicles without electronic ignition every 10,000 to 20,000 miles. Your owner’s manual has the exact schedule. Short trips, towing and dusty roads are severe service and shorten intervals.

What Logan Drivers Say

4.8 ★ · 227 Google reviews

“The new owners here are great! Jeremy was kind and professional and went the extra mile – he even gave my toddler a popsicle while we waited. They gave us a great price and were very quick and helpful. The waiting room and bathroom were clean and newly renovated. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone in Logan!”

Sarah Peterson

“I’m in the middle of a tricky rebuild on a classic and needed some very precise exhaust parts bent. I made templates but even still wasn’t 100% sure they would work. Jeremy did an exceptional job bending the parts as close to my templates as possible. After fitting them back at my shop I found that some adjustments were needed (not his fault). This happened a few times as I refined the fit. Each time Jeremy very patiently helped me out until I got the fit I needed. I definitely will be back and will recommend this shop to others.”

Jeremy Jenkins

“Needed a muffler installed they did an excellent job! The price was very reasonable as well, very happy!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Master AutoTech Logan is on North Main Street at 600 North at 601 N Main St, Logan, and we handle tune-ups for drivers from North Logan, Providence, Smithfield and Hyde Park every day. Book online or call 435-485-9946.

Most modern cars need new spark plugs every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, with filters checked every oil change. Short trips and cold winter starts wear parts faster, so we’ll check yours against the manufacturer schedule.

It depends on your engine and which parts are due. We check your mileage and service history, recommend only what your vehicle needs, and give you the price before any work starts.

Most tune-ups take one to three hours. Engines where the intake must be removed to reach the rear spark plugs take longer. We’ll give you a time estimate when you drop off.

Booking online or calling 435-485-9946 is fastest, and walk-ins are welcome. We’re open Monday through Friday.

Yes. Tune-up parts and labor at Master AutoTech Logan are covered by our 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty*.

It can. Short trips and stop-and-go traffic are considered severe service, so city cars may need plugs, filters and fluids sooner than the standard interval. We’ll check your mileage and history and tell you what’s due.

Yes, though less often. Spark plugs, filters, belts and sensors still wear out. Modern vehicles typically need a tune-up every 30,000 to 50,000 miles.

An oil change replaces the oil and filter. A tune-up focuses on ignition, fuel and air systems: spark plugs, coils, filters, belts and sensors. Both are part of regular maintenance.
