Master AutoTech Twin Falls performs complete car and truck tune-ups for drivers across Twin Falls, Kimberly and Filer. A tune-up restores power and fuel economy and catches worn parts before they leave you stranded, and our work is backed by a 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty*.
Short trips, stop-and-go traffic on Addison Avenue and cold winter starts are hard on plugs, filters and belts. Our shop is on Addison Avenue West near Drury Park, so a tune-up fits easily around work or errands.

What Happens During Your Tune-Up
Every gas-powered vehicle gets our tune-up checklist. Here’s what we inspect and when each item is typically due:
- Spark plugs. Inspected and replaced when worn. Typically every 30,000–100,000 miles depending on plug type.
- Ignition coils & plug wires. Tested for misfires; wires checked on older vehicles. As needed.
- Engine air filter. Replaced when dirty. Every 15,000–30,000 miles, sooner on dusty roads.
- Fuel filter. Replaced where serviceable. Every 30,000–60,000 miles.
- Belts & hoses. Checked for cracks and wear; Idaho’s dry climate ages rubber fast. Every visit.
- Battery & charging. Tested so you don’t get stranded on a cold morning. Every visit.
- Oxygen sensors. Checked so the engine burns the right amount of fuel. As needed.
- PCV valve. Inspected and replaced to control crankcase pressure. Every 30,000–50,000 miles.
- Distributor cap & rotor. On older vehicles that still have one. As needed.
You leave with a report of everything we checked and replaced, so you have a record of what was done and when.
Why get a tune-up if your car runs fine? Leaks, worn parts and failing sensors often don’t show symptoms until they cause a bigger, more expensive repair. A tune-up catches them while they’re still small.
How Much Does a Tune-Up Cost in Twin Falls?
Tune-up cost depends on your engine and what’s due. A four-cylinder with easy-to-reach plugs costs less than a V6 or V8 where the intake has to come off, and iridium plugs cost more than copper. We check your mileage and service history, recommend only what’s due, and quote it before we start.
We keep our prices competitive and upfront: you get an estimate and approve it before any work starts.

Signs You Need a Tune-Up
- Dropping fuel economy
- Rough idle or engine misfires
- Hesitation or sluggish acceleration
- Hard starting, especially on cold mornings
- The check engine light is on
- Engine knocking or pinging
How Often Should You Get a Tune-Up?
Most modern vehicles need a tune-up every 30,000 to 50,000 miles; older vehicles without electronic ignition every 10,000 to 20,000 miles. Your owner’s manual has the exact schedule. Short trips, towing and dusty roads are severe service and shorten intervals.
