How Much Does a Wheel Alignment Cost in Salt Lake City?

Alignment cost depends mainly on whether your vehicle needs a front-end or four-wheel alignment, and whether anything is worn or seized. Rusted adjusters, worn tie rods or aftermarket suspension add time and parts. Trucks, SUVs and all-wheel-drive vehicles usually need a four-wheel alignment. We measure first and give you the price before we adjust anything.

We keep our prices competitive and upfront: you get an estimate and approve it before any work starts.

Signs Your Alignment Is Off

Hit a pothole on State Street or clipped a curb? Watch for these signs:

  • The car drifts or pulls to one side
  • The steering wheel is off-center driving straight
  • Uneven wear on the inside or outside tire edges
  • Vibration or shimmy in the steering wheel
  • Tires squeal on normal turns
  • Loose or wandering steering on the freeway

Financing & Payment

Need to spread out the cost? Master AutoTech offers several financing options, including the Goodyear Credit Card (6-month special financing on purchases of $250 or more), the Synchrony Car Care credit card, the 1stMILE Mastercard, Snap Finance, Acima, Surepay and RC Willey financing. Pairing an alignment with new tires? Ask about both.

What Salt Lake City Drivers Say

4.9 ★ · 224 Google reviews

“Great new location of Master [Autotech]. I have gotten many car repairs done with them and had great service. I really recommend Jessi. He is the best mechanic in Salt Lake! He’s very experienced and has been honest and reliable. I first saw him a few years ago when I needed a second opinion on a repair. Another mechanic shop had quoted a very costly, extensive repair. Jessi was able to find the real problem and repair at a fraction of the cost, so I keep going back with both of my vehicles. Highly recommend!”

Alina Austin

“I take both my cars here and ask for Jessi. He is the only person I will let work on my cars. He is honest and only fixes what I need fixed and he lets me know what I might need to do in the future. He always makes me feel like he has my best interest in mind. Thanks Jessi and Master Tech Auto!!!”

Quin Jolley

“Took my Hyundai in for a coolant leak I couldnt fix myself. John T worked on my car, and got it fixed quick! It wasnt an easy job. John was AWESOME. Mike at the front dest was friendly and took care of me. I will absolutely bring my car back here next time.”

How Often Should You Get a Wheel Alignment?

Check your alignment once a year, every time you buy new tires, and after any hard pothole or curb hit. Utah’s freeze-thaw winters leave plenty of potholes, and a single impact can knock a car out of spec.

Situation Recommendation
Normal driving Alignment check every 12 months
New tires Align at installation to protect the warranty and tread
Pothole, curb or accident Check as soon as possible
Suspension or steering repair Align after tie rods, struts or control arms are replaced

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Master AutoTech Downtown State SLC is on State Street between 900 South and 1300 South at 1050 S State St, Salt Lake City, and we handle wheel alignments for drivers from Ballpark, Central City, Liberty Wells, Central Ninth, People’s Freeway, Granary District and Sugar House every day. Yes. One hard hit on a pothole or curb can knock your wheels out of spec. If the steering wheel is off-center, the car pulls, or your tires wear on one edge, stop by our Downtown SLC shop for an alignment check.

Take the 1300 South exit east to State Street, turn left, and we’re on the left before 900 South. Our address is 1050 S State St, Salt Lake City.

The price depends on whether you need a front-end or four-wheel alignment and whether any parts are worn or seized. We measure first and tell you the price before we adjust anything.

Most alignments take about an hour. If we find worn tie rods, ball joints or seized adjusters, we’ll explain what’s needed and how long it adds before doing any extra work.

You can book online any time or call 801-609-9709. Walk-ins are welcome, and we’re open Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Yes. Alignment work and any parts we install are covered by our 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty*. If your car starts pulling again, bring it back and we’ll recheck it.

We recommend it. Installing new tires on a misaligned car wears them unevenly and can shorten their life by thousands of miles. An alignment at install protects your tires and tread warranty.

An alignment sets the angle of the wheels so the car tracks straight. Balancing evens out weight around each tire so it doesn’t vibrate at speed. Pulling usually means alignment; vibration usually means balance.
